One-Color Stockinette Brioche Stitch
This variation places all the ‘knit’ stitches on the RS and the ‘purl’ stitches on the WS just as in normal stockinette stitch. This stitch pattern really doesn’t become interesting until you add more colors. Loosely cast on an even number of sts.

Two-Color Stockinette Brioche Stitch

Loosely cast on an even number of sts in Light Color (LC). Do not turn work, slide to other end of needle and attach Dark Color (DC). The light side (LS) is the knitted side of the work, dark side (DS) is the purled.

Set-Up Row DS DC: *sl1yo, p1; rep from *. Turn work.
Row 1 LS LC: *sl1yo, brk1; rep from *. Do not turn, slide.
Row 1 LS DC: *brk1, sl1yo; rep from *. Turn work.
Row 2 DS LC: *brp1, sl1yo; rep from *. Do not turn, slide.
Row 2 DS DC: *sl1yo, brp1; rep from *. Turn work.

Three-Color Stockinette Brioche Stitch

Loosely cast on an even number of sts in color A. Turn your work and attach color B.

My colors: color A = very light green, color B = dark green, color C = rust.
